Venepuncture Training for Health Professionals

Regenerus Laboratories in conjunction with Functional DX are pleased to announce a new course for “Venipuncture” which is the primary function of phlebotomy.
This course has been put together in conjunction with the National Association for Phlebotomy and has been created to help practitioners expand their practices and fulfil the significant demand for private phlebotomy across the UK.
Exclusively for Health Care Practitioners and other allied health professionals the course will run over three non consecutive days and cover in detail the actual blood draw process plus the centrifugation of a blood sample as is frequently required. Specifically this course has been put on to help fill the demand for bloods draw services in most corners of the UK and Ireland, where a convenient and accessible location are often hard to find.

Part 1 : Theory
Run over one day and held at The Stanwell Hotel theory will cover:
Personal Conduct and Code of practice
Legal Considerations
Indications and Contraindications of a Blood Test request
Health and Safety
Infection Control
Anatomy and Physiology
Suitable Venepuncture sites
Simulated Practice
Centrifugation use and Training
Please note attendees must pass Part 1 Theory before graduating onto Part 2.
Part 2: Practical Supervision
This will be run over two consecutive days and will be held at an NHS Training Hospital hospital located close to the hotel. Dates of Part 2 will be agreed with the tutor.
Training will include:
Practical application on a hospital ward with real patients.
It is compulsory that Candidates entering onto Part 2 will be required to have started a Hep B Vaccination Course prior to attendance or possess up to date vaccination.
Whats included?
The cost of the course is heavily subsidised at include three days of training, 1 night of accommodation for part 2 training and qualification certificate. Additionally (subject to terms and conditions) Regenerus Laboratories and Functional Dx will provide attendees with a portable centrifuge on semi permanent loan.
Finally, please note there are only 15 places available so we will be taking people on a first come first served basis however further courses will be run over in 2016.
