Teaching points will include:
A review of basic thyroid physiology and biochemistry
The metabolic steps that must be in place for proper thyroid hormone synthesis
The origins and consequences of dysfunction in hormone synthesis.
A review of the influence of thyroid hormones on the cells and physiological systems of the body
A review of thyroid tests, new markers to consider, and, critically, an understanding of proper interpretation
A review of the immune-mediated mechanisms that disrupt thyroid function & underlie thyroid disorders – (including the presence of lipopolysaccharides, cytokines and prostaglandins).
An overview of the pathophysiology, immunology and triggers of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.
A thorough understanding of nutritional intervention, including vitamins, minerals and botanicals, and the mechanisms they support, including: - HPT hormone support - peripheral synthesis support - receptor site support & - immune modulation.
Learn to competently identify and address thyroid issues in clinical practice
Understand the root cause of the problem as well as the downstream consequences
Learn to intervene with appropriate clinical protocols.
The day will commence at 9am for registration and refreshments with the date set to get underway at 09.30.
A light gluten and dairy free lunch will be provided with refreshments across the day.
5 Hours CPD registration has been applied for.
